India's crewed space program Gaganyaan has achieved critical test milestones and aims for a manned flight by 2025.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully completed the Crew Module Atmospheric Re‑entry Experiment (CARE) in December 2022, validating heat shield performance.

Uncrewed orbital flight (Gaganyaan‑1) is scheduled for late 2024, which will test life support systems, navigation and communication modules in space conditions.

ISRO has signed agreements with international partners for astronaut training, including the Russian Roscosmos and French CNES agencies, enhancing crew safety protocols.

The mission aligns with India's strategic goal of self‑reliance in space technology and is likely to be featured in science and technology sections of competitive exams.
