Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2026 for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts.

Vacancies

Approx. 2,536 tentative vacancies across ministries, departments and offices of the Government of India.

Eligibility

• 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board.
• Age 18 to 27 years (as on 01 August 2026) with applicable relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM.

Important Dates

• Start of online application: 07 September 2026
• Last date to submit application: 07 October 2026 (23:00 hrs)
• Last date for fee payment: 08 October 2026 (23:00 hrs)
• Application correction window: 14 October 2026 to 16 October 2026 (23:00 hrs)

Application Fee

Rs. 100 for general candidates; fee exempted for women, SC/ST, PwBD and ESM categories.

Selection Process

• Tier‑I: Computer‑Based Examination (60 min, objective questions)
• Tier‑II: Computer‑Based Examination (four sections, including a typing test for LDC/JSA and DEO)

1. Register on the SSC website (ssc.gov.in) or the “my SSC” mobile app.
2. Fill the online application form for CHSL 2026.
3. Upload required documents and capture your photograph as instructed.
4. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) before 08 October 2026.
5. Submit the form, print the confirmation page and keep it for future reference.
