UPSC ESE Engineering Services Examination Recruitment 2027 (480 Vacancies)

UPSC is conducting the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2027 to recruit Group A and Group B engineering posts across various ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Vacancies

Approximately 480 vacancies, including 19 for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), will be filled based on the results.

Eligibility

• Nationality: Indian citizen or eligible foreign national as per UPSC rules.
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication) from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Age: 21 to 30 years on 1 January 2027 (with applicable relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/Ex‑Servicemen/PwBD).

• Application start: 16 September 2026
• Last date to apply: 6 October 2026
• Preliminary Examination: 31 January 2027
• Main Examination: 18 June 2027

Application Fee

₹200 (exempted for female, SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Selection Process

• Preliminary Examination (Stage‑I)
• Main Examination (Stage‑II)
• Personality Test/Interview (Stage‑III)

1. Register on upsconline.nic.in and fill the online application form.
2. Upload required documents and pay the application fee (₹200) online.
3. Submit the application before 6 October 2026.
